Somewhere, a RIAA supporter is crying right now. Rovio, the mobile developer behind the wildly popular Angry Birds game has talked a bit about piracy at the Medim conference this week.

Rather than get aggressive and sue people like the RIAA did; Rovio is taking a much more laid-back and much more intelligent path to dealing with piracy. The policy is do nothing unless it hurts users of the game or clearly hurts the Angry Birds brand.

Rovio admits it has some issues with piracy and the Angry Birds brand, particularly in Asia were unlicensed merchandise is rampant. However, Rovio CEO Mikael Hed says that piracy isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, Hed says the piracy can be a good thing and help bring in more business for the brand. “We have some issues with piracy, not only in apps, but also especially in the consumer products. There is tons and tons of merchandise out there, especially in Asia, which is not officially licensed products,” said Hed. “We could learn a lot from the music industry, and the rather terrible ways the music industry has tried to combat piracy.”

Rovio says it’s futile to pursue pirates in the courts and it will only do so when it feels that the products are being sold are harmful to the Angry Birds brand, or are detrimental to fans. The crux of the argument seems to be that Rovio doesn’t want to be viewed as a bad guy by fans, which is how the music industry is viewed when it comes to rampant suits of people with tenuous ties to pirating music. Good on you Rovio, I hope that the music industry and other firms that deal with piracy take this path.

Piracy may not be a bad thing: it can get us more business at the end of the day,” Mikael Hed, Rovio CEO.

On April 06, 2011, the Women’s Media Centre of Cambodia (WMC) organized a party for the celebration of the Khmer New Year to come on the April 14. The celebration aimed also at promoting Cambodian precious tradition. Besides, this event marked the 16th anniversary of the establishment of WMC.

The event was divided into two main parts: religious ceremony and team building/social party. Are all movies viewable for everyone? How does a movie earn a G, PG, PG-13, R or NC-17 rating? The Motion Picture Association of America has set the following standards for films in order to help parents determine if the content is acceptable for viewing. Following are movie ratings:

G Rating

According to the MPAA, a “G-rated motion picture contains nothing in theme, language, nudity, sex, violence or other matters that, in the view of the Rating Board, would offend parents whose younger children view the motion picture.” The rating does not mean the MPAA approves of the film, only that it is fit for a general audience. Additionally, the film contains no strong language, nudity, sex, or drug usage. Violence is minimal.

PG Rating

A PG-rated film may not be suitable for children. The MPAA says a PG-rated should be checked out by parents before allowing younger children to see the movie. There could be some profanity, some violence, or brief nudity; however there will not be any drug use in a PG film.

PG-13 Rating

PG-13 indicates there’s material in the film that may not be suitable for children under the age of 13. A PG-13 movie could go “beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category.” The MPAA will give this rating to films with drug use or more than brief nudity, although the nudity in a PG-13 is not sexual in nature. In addition, the MPAA states “there may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context.”

R Rating

R-ratings require a parent or adult guardian to be present in order to view the film. An R-rated film “may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously.”

NC-17 Rating

No one under the age of 17 is permitted in a theater to watch a film with this rating. The MPAA gives a film an NC-17 rating based on “violence, sex, aberrational behavior, drug abuse or any other element that most parents would consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children.”

Based on the rating above, it is important that parents (for children), monitor the movies their children watch. Sometimes the movie is not good for their children to view. Games are also like this. If not properly monitored, your children may be at risk. While this is preventable, please have your children safe while they still can watch the movies or play the games as they are also part of your children’s learning process. MPS

A man and a Woman have been in relationship via the phone call for some time. One day, they date for the first time. Then they meet each other at a nice café. At the first sight, they start talking:

[M=Man W=Woman]

M: Hello, lady!

W: Hello! Are you the one who dates me?

M: Of course! How do you feel?
Seeing your face reminds me of going on the boat in the sea lately.

M: Why, dear? Is it because I am handsome and romantic?

W: No! But your face makes me sick!
(No idea)

Last night, I just felt bored after having worked the whole day. I just did not want to do anything. However, I am used to going to bed late, so I could not sleep at that moment. I, then, came up with an idea of killing time by just drawing my symbolic picture. It doesn’t look lively cuz I don’t have much artist of sense.

I can say this is the most viewed video on Youtube though there are some more videos with higher hits. On what basis can I say like this? That is pretty easy to answer. It is the age of this video uploaded. It was just added on June 04, 2010, but see how it outnumbers many others. I rate this one all the stars.

Shakira is a cute singer with beautifully unique voice. I can’t appreciate enough.

I feel free after video shooting is over. I felt uncomfortable before the start, because I had to arrest a foreigner and I had to speak English. I was afraid that I might forget the script. Luckily, I could do it just well. I was acting as Second Lieutenant. It was hot in this cloth as it did not suit me well. The trouser was ok but the shirt. I wanted to put on another one, but they said it fitted me well. I hope the video is good.
