After having been busy which makes me away from my blog for a long time, today, I felt I wanted to make a collection of my beloved geeks who have changed the way I (and all of us) live. Some geeks may appear first or last in my collection, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they are ranked first nor last. I love them all.

Geeks who have changed the way we live.

As in my disclaimer, it is to be noticed that these individuals who appear here in my list are not necessarily the single founders of their respective firms/products. They may be co-founders. The reason why I listed only these people and not their co-founders was because these are at least representatives of those in their team. Also, it was because they are commonly known by the public; there is no big deal. There still lovely geeks who are not listed here, but they are all in my heart.

It is also to be noticed that they are not just founders of the firms/products I mentioned in the list. In fact they founded a lot more than just what I mentioned. I just listed their most known firms/product they founded.

Note: Some founders here might have left the firms/products.

Enjoy loving them and have a nice weekend.

Following are the two common weird windows bugs out of many you might not have learned:

1. Impossible Folder or File Names

Have you learned that there are things in windows of all versions that are supposed to be possible but are impossible.

Have you ever been faced with problem when creating a Folder or File with any extension then it display an error message when you press Enter key? Then you just ask yourself why it is impossible to create such folder or file. Some might have been wondering if it is a virus which causes this; it is not.

See the picture bellow:

Here are the rest of names

PRN, LPT1, LPT2, (…), LPT9, NUL, COM1, (…), COM9, and CLOCK$

These names are the reserved device names that are now allowed to use to create folder or file regardless of extension.

2. Microsoft Word Trick

Open Microsoft Word and type this:

=rand (5,10)

Press Enter Key and you will notice a surprising result.

On Saturday, I joined the Barcamp Phnom Penh 3 at Puthysastra University. It showered a little bit, yet I still could manage to go and met some people. I also learned some nice things from there. One of the most interesting sessions I joined is the session on Khmer Text To Speech (Khmer TTS), introduced by Mr. Sok Kimheng, lecturer at Institut de Technologie du Cambodge (ITC). It is very interesting that Khmer can also have the software to speak Khmer. With this software, you can either type the text directly, import file or copy and paste the text from somewhere and press the button for it to read out loud. He also gave away some nice open source software.

Within the session, he suggested that someone attending his session or anyone else continue improving this software as it is an open source software and there is still a need of further correction. The software was developed by a team of 5 people. The software is available for Windows and Linux Only. Hopefully, someone else can help improve this in the future and to make it available to all OS platforms.

Besides, I could talk to many people about what we all can do together in the future to make ICT in Cambodia grow faster in a nice sense.

After taking the quiz at

I have found myself a NERD. I’ve never noticed it before!

But what is a NERD? Here, as described on Wikipedia, a Nerd is a term, often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who avidly pursues intellectual activities, technical or scientific endeavors, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests, rather than engaging in more social or conventional activities. The nerd may be awkward, shy and unattractive.[1] Therefore, a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will tend to associate with like-minded people.

The description works find for my case. It is true that I am often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will ten to associate with like-minded people.
