On Saturday, I joined the Barcamp Phnom Penh 3 at Puthysastra University. It showered a little bit, yet I still could manage to go and met some people. I also learned some nice things from there. One of the most interesting sessions I joined is the session on Khmer Text To Speech (Khmer TTS), introduced by Mr. Sok Kimheng, lecturer at Institut de Technologie du Cambodge (ITC). It is very interesting that Khmer can also have the software to speak Khmer. With this software, you can either type the text directly, import file or copy and paste the text from somewhere and press the button for it to read out loud. He also gave away some nice open source software.

Within the session, he suggested that someone attending his session or anyone else continue improving this software as it is an open source software and there is still a need of further correction. The software was developed by a team of 5 people. The software is available for Windows and Linux Only. Hopefully, someone else can help improve this in the future and to make it available to all OS platforms.

Besides, I could talk to many people about what we all can do together in the future to make ICT in Cambodia grow faster in a nice sense.
